A Different Standard

Why this is different

No insurance, no gatekeeping

Insurance decides what gets covered, which means it decides what gets discussed. Paying directly removes the middleman. You and the provider decide what to test and what to try, without waiting on an authorization.

Time to actually look

A typical primary care visit runs 15 minutes. This is not that. Comprehensive labs, a real intake, and a provider who reads the results with you instead of sending a portal message that says "all normal."

Built around how you feel

Being outside the disease range is not the same as feeling good. The focus here is energy, sleep, body composition, mood, and drive, measured against your own baseline.

You’re in the right place if:
  • Have symptoms your labs have not explained
  • Are willing to pay directly for care that insurance will not cover
  • Want data and a plan, not a supplement subscription
  • Are 18 or older and live in North Carolina

Clinical Focus

What gets covered

Hormone health

Testosterone, thyroid, cortisol, and perimenopause. Full panels, evaluated by a provider who treats hormones as a system and not a single number on a lab slip.

Woman enjoying a calm morning wellness routine

Metabolic health and weight

Insulin resistance, lipids, inflammation, and body composition. Where medication is clinically appropriate, the provider will discuss the FDA approved options with you.

Man training with battle ropes in a gym

Energy, sleep, and recovery

The complaints that get dismissed most often, taken seriously and worked up properly.

Longevity and advanced therapies

An honest read on what the evidence supports, what is still speculative, and what is legally available right now. We will tell you when the answer is "not yet."

The Process

How it works

1

Tell us what you are working on.

Two minutes, four questions. No medical history required at this stage.

2

Get matched.

We introduce you to an independent licensed provider who practices in your state. They review your information and reach out directly.

3

Get evaluated.

Comprehensive labs and a real conversation. The provider determines what, if anything, is appropriate for you.

4

Get managed.

If treatment makes sense, the provider manages it and adjusts over time. Any medication is dispensed by a licensed pharmacy.

All clinical decisions, including whether any treatment or medication is appropriate, are made solely by the licensed provider after evaluating you. SumHealth does not provide medical care and does not prescribe.

Have Questions? We've Got Answers

Who is this not a fit for?

This is not a fit if you:

  • Are looking for a specific drug and a prescription with no evaluation
  • Need urgent or emergency care
  • Are hoping to bill insurance for the visits
  • Want a guarantee before anyone has looked at your labs

That last one is not us being difficult. A provider who will promise you a prescription before evaluating you is not a provider you want.

Will I get a prescription?

Only if an independent licensed provider evaluates you and determines it is appropriate. Nothing is guaranteed, and any provider promising otherwise is a red flag.

How much does it cost?

This is a cash pay service. The provider's practice sets its own pricing and bills you directly. SumHealth does not set prices and does not take a share of what you pay for care.

  • We do not bill insurance. No claims, no deductibles, no surprise explanation of benefits six weeks later. You will know the cost before anything happens.
  • You may be able to use HSA/FSA. Many patients do. Check with your plan administrator, since rules vary.
  • Some labs may be covered. If you choose to run them through your own insurance plan, the provider can talk you through that option during evaluation.
Why no insurance?

Insurance coverage drives what gets tested and discussed. Cash pay keeps that decision between you and your provider. It also means no prior authorization delays.

Is this legitimate telehealth?

If you are matched for telehealth care, the independent practice is responsible for confirming that its licensed clinician can legally care for you in North Carolina.
